On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and launch of ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’, Rajya Sabha MP and Former BJP Delhi President Shri Vijay Goel will lead cleanliness drive with railway officers, staff and school children at Shivaji Bridge Railway Station, Minto Road at 11 AM on 2nd October.
Shri Goel said, “Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi has envisioned a clean India. However, the condition of public places is such that they can be called nothing but unhygienic and filthy. Today it’s important to convert this campaign into a massive mass movement to achieve our aim of a ‘Clean India’. I appeal to one and all to not litter in public for little contribution by one and all will help us be closer to our goal of a “Swachh Bharat’.”
Shri Goel said, “Yesterday, I visited Museum at Lahori Gate and was appalled to see it in an unsanitary, dirty condition. I raised this concern with MCD Commissioner who has assured immediate action in this regard.”
I call upon one and all to participate in the ‘Swachh Bharat Campaign’ whole heartedly and to be dedicated towards this endeavour and to the tenets of cleanliness in your daily affairs.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is a massive mass movement that seeks to create a Clean India. Cleanliness was very close to Mahatma Gandhi’s heart. A clean India is the best tribute we can pay to Bapu when we celebrate his 150th birth anniversary in 2019. Mahatma Gandhi devoted his life so that India attains ‘Swarajya’. Now the time has come to devote ourselves towards ‘Swachchhata’ (cleanliness) of our motherland.
