The Asian Age- ‘Wall of greetings’ at Rajiv Chowk Metro for PM Modi

New Delhi: Hundreds of people sent wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by writing their messages on the “wall of greetings” put up outside Rajiv Chowk Metro station in Connaught Place on Tuesday.

Sharing the rationale of putting up the “wall of greetings,” Union minister and Lok Abhiyan president Vijay Goel said that a large number of people wished to express their thoughts to Mr Modi after the grand comeback of the NDA government in the Lok Sabha polls and in view of the swearing-in ceremony of the new government.

Besides Mr Goel, Union ministers Prakash Javadekar, party’s vice president Vinay Sahastrabudhe, and national secretary RP Singh were also present.

Mr Goel said that mere sloganeering does not impress the people; it is the development and the sincerity to work which makes a difference.

“That is how Modi ji won the hearts of the people of India—through his sincerity and development,” he said.

Mr Goel added that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal still wants to cajole the public with his slogans.

“The people of Delhi have made it very clear that they are with Modi ji. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been relegated to the third position because it failed to fulfil its promises. Delhi has become a slum. It is the world’s most polluted city and not a single hospital, college, or school has been opened. Had BJP been in power, it would have carried out a series of development works in cooperation with the Centre,” he said.

The Union minister said, “Mr Kejriwal had been alleging that Modi ji wants to kill him. But today when he has been rejected by the people of Delhi, he speaks about working with Modi ji. This is a sham.”

Mr Sahastrabudhe said that while Mr Modi was receiving wishes from all around the world through social media, this “wall of greetings” was a small effort to let the common public send their thoughts and messages to him.
