Kejriwal has ruined Delhi

Jal Board CEO escorted out of his office amidst heavy police force
Will gherao other Jal Board officials in similar way – Goel

New Delhi, June 12, 2019: After gheraoing the CEO and other officials of the Delhi Jal
Board for the entire night, BJP leader and former BJP Delhi President Vijay Goel said that
the CEO of the Jal Board should be sacked immediately if he fails to address the issue of
contaminated water and water mismanagement.

Goel said that the people of Delhi have lost all hopes from CM Kejriwal on the issue of
resolving the problems of Delhiites. He said he would also gherao other officials of the
Jal Board if they continue to indulge in corruption and negligence.

MLA Om Prakash Sharma, BJP General Secretary Ravindra Gupta, DJB member Jai
Prakash and hundreds of the BJP supporters held the gherao in the Jal Board office till
3’o clock in the morning. DJB officials later called the police at 3.30 am which dragged
away the BJP supporters sleeping in the corridors and escorted the CEO out of his office
amidst heavy police presence after 12 hours of gherao.

The BJP delegation put forth following six demands:
1.      A task force to address contaminated water immediately
2.      Uploading the public complaints on the website of DJB
3.      Waiving-off the bills of people not receiving water or those who are receiving
contaminated water
4.      Strict action against tanker mafia
5.      Release of a summer action plan
6.      Water connection to every household in Jhuggi-Jhopri colonies

MP Ramesh Bidhuri and General Secretary R P Singh were also present at the site in the
night. The CEO’s token reply that he would consider the demands of the delegation
irked Goel who took away his paper and tore it off, and said that the corruption and
incompetence have shot up so much that a newly-joined CEO cannot do much even if he
wishes so.

Goel said that the Kejriwal government has ruined Delhi. It does not care for the people
and is merely fooling the public through free water, free power, free medicines, and
free metro rides. Goel said it is a matter of disgrace that the residents of the capital of
India are unable to get even amenity as basic as water. The Delhi Jal Board (DJB)
thousands of people in South Delhi neighborhoods are forced to buy water for homely

chores because utility engineers are unable to fix leakages. Some media reports inform
about the rising number of calls being received by the Delhi police from across Delhi on
fights breaking out owing to water paucity.

Vision for Delhi

My visions for Delhi stems from these inspiring words of Swami Vivekanada. I sincerely believe that Delhi has enough number of brave, bold men and women who can make it not only one of the best cities.
