New Delhi, 8 October, 2019: Delhi's famous Ramleela maidan boasted of Ravan made from single use plastic. Former Union Minister and MP Vijay Goel lit the Ravan and gave the message to people to fight against the single use plastic. Goel was accompanied by D.S Mishra, Secretary, Urban Development Ministry, President of Ramleela Committee, O.P Katyal and Rajesh Khanna.
Addressing the audience, Goel said that the effigy has been constructed by Ramleela Committee in association with Cement Manufacturing Association. Goel told that the plastic effigy can be reduced to waste by pressing just a button. The aim of this is to promote the use of plastic as a new fuel in the cement industry. It will reduce the cost of fuel by 20%.
Shri Mishra said that Urban Development Ministry is in talks with Cement manufacturers on the sustainable use of single use plastic so that the discarded single plastic waste can be efficiently transported to cement plants.
Goel said that just like PM Modi is ending the evil of terrorism, Bangladeshi infiltrators, Article 370, Triple Talaq, Corruption, we should also take vow to fight against these evils on Dussehra.

Goel congratulated Urban Development Ministry for efficiently using the Ravan's effigy made of single use plastic as fuel.

It’s a shame that Delhi despite being the capital of India is not fully literate whereas a small state like Kerala has attained 100% literacy.
